Citizien Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV

Year: 2000
Country: USA

Director: Lloyd Kaufman
Starring: David Mattey, Clyde Lewis, Heidi Sjursen, Paul Kyrmse, Joe Fleishaker

A tale of two toxies!

The diaper mafia has taken the students and teachers of the Tromaville School for the Very Special hostage and the Toxic Avenger with his sidekick Lardass is on their way to save the day. Before the terror is over, an explosion takes place that puts Toxie in another dimension.

Suddenly he is in Amortville, where things are not so peaceful and calm and the gangsters run the streets. At the same time an evil version of Toxie, The Noxious Offender called Noxie is loose in Tromaville, causing havoc and crime wherever he can. Toxie has to find a way to return to Tromaville and get right of Noxie before the city is destroyed.

The Toxic Avenger is back! Over ten years has passed since the two mediocre sequels and the story in this one ignores what happened in those two films, even going so far as apologizing to the fans for the lack of quality of them in the introduction. When it comes to the story, they didn’t need to do that since the stuff that went on in the second and third film does not get in the way of the story here.

Terror Firmer

terrorfirmerGenre: Comedy / Horror
Year: 1999
Country: USA

Director: Lloyd Kaufman
Starring: Will Keenan, Alyce LaTourelle, Lloyd Kaufman, Trent Haaga, Sheri Wenden

Let’s make some art!

The Troma crew is set to make a new feature film in New York! The blind director Larry Benjamin has gathered a crew of freaks who will all give their best to create more cinematic art for their fans to enjoy.

Things go as usual on a Troma shoot, actors quit, the director goes mad and a strange female creature is stalking and killing participates of the production. The crew tries to keep things together and they will give their lives in order to complete the film.

Terror Firmer is one of the most disgusting and over-the-top film that Troma has ever presented to their fans. It’s trashy, dirty and offensive. Just the way Tromafans like it! The film celebrates or pokes fun, probably both at Troma itself and there’s plenty of self-references going on here. The film can best be described as taking a good dump. Most people will not appreciate it, but the few who do are able to take notice of the significant quality of that specific dump.

Class of Nuke ‘Em High III: The Good, The Bad and The Subhumanoid

POSTER - CLASS OF NUKE'EM HIGH 3Genre: Comedy / Horror
Year: 1994
Country: USA

Director: Eric Louzil
Starring: Brick Bronsky, Lisa Star, John Tallman, Lisa Gaye, Albert Bear

After witnessing the destruction of the giant killer squirrel Tromie, school reporter Roger Smith and his subhumanoid girlfriend Victoria succeeds in baby making and delivers birth to twin boys. Without their knowledge, one of their babies gets stolen from them on the day of delivery by the evil professor Holt and an evil corporate businessman Dr. Slag.

Roger and Victoria raises a peaceful and good hearted boy named Adlai, while the evil ones raises the bad twin Dick to be an evil militant…. well, dick. Both of them become full adults very quickly and also seem to have superpowers thanks to their mother’s subhumanoid gene. When Dick’s evil plans of destruction and chaos sets in motion, it becomes up to Adlai to save the day.

If it weren’t for the passing of the three years between this and the second Class of Nuke ‘Em High film, then I would have assumed that they were filmed back to back. Plenty of both cast and crew were involved in both films and they also have the same feel to it.

Space Zombie Bingo

spacezombiebingoGenre: Comedy / Sci-Fi
Year: 1993
Country: USA

aka: Zombie 10: Die Zombier, Zombie 6: Part 2

Director: George Ormrod
Starring: William Darkow, Ramona Provost, Hugh Crawford, Mike Milligan, Katie Barrett

Life’s a beach – even in space!

Planet Earth is in terrible danger. We are on the verge of being invaded by hungry meat eating robot zombies from outer space. It’s up to the Zombie Defence Force, led by Major Kent Bendover and his troops to save the earth and kick some alien zombie butt.

Let’s just get this over with. Space Zombie Bingo is a terrible movie. It’s rare that I get to see something as crappy as this turd. The only explanation I have for its shittyness is if it was made as an homage to Plan 9 From Outer Space and actually attempted to make a piece of shit.

Everything is done bad here, including the supposedly comedy. While other bad films might be funny, this one is just terrible to sit through. I can’t imagine anyone, even fans of crappy films enjoying this and I wish I had spent my time doing something else. Like waxing the hair on my butt.

Cannibal! The Musical

He tells the story of him and his fellow gold-prospecting friends that make their way to Colorado where they expect to strike gold. They way over to Colorado becomes very long however and they get lost after a few weeks with danger all around them.

Cannibal! The Music started out as a college project back in 1993 by the guys who would eventually go on to create the hugely popular South Park TV series. After they had made a three minute long trailer they secured 125,000 dollars to make it into a full feature film. The effort on this project made the school kick out Trey Parker since he become too focused on this project instead of how other school work.

It’s clean-up time!

Melvin Junko is a geeky janitor at Tromaville’s Health Club who gets picked on by the muscular teens who use the facility. Class of Nuke ‘Em High II: Subhumanoid Meltdown

Year: 1991
Country: USA

Director: Eric Louzil, Donald. G. Jackson
Starring: Brick Bronsky, Lisa Gaye, Leesa Rowland, Michael Kurtz, Scott Resnick

Student power meets nuclear power!

The nuclear power plant of Tromaville has been rebuilt. This time they have built it next to the Tromaville Institute for Technology, or TIT for short. Professor Holt is designing a new race of sub-human creatures, designed to be emotionless and programmable to do whatever their master desires.

The school reporter Roger meets one of the subhumanoids called Victoria and falls in love with her. When the subhumanoids start to melt all of a sudden and the nuclear plant again makes people behave crazy, Roger does whatever he can to save his love Victoria before she also melts into green slime.

Class of Nuke ‘Em High 2 is made five years after the first one, but looks and feels like something that was made in the mid 80’s. They upped the ante when it came to comedy and went a little bit nicer on the violence and gore. The story isn’t anything special and it feels like a rehash of the first one just with the teen comedy stuff traded out for the creation of the subhumanoids here.

Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D.

sgtkabukiGenre: Action / Comedy
Year: 1990
Country: USA

aka: Kabukiman

Director: Michael Herz, Lloyd Kaufman
Starring: Rick Gianasi, Susan Byun, Bill Weeden, Thomas Crnkovich, Larry Robinson

Fatal sushi… lethal chopsticks… and as American as apple pie!

Detective Harry Griswold is investigating several murders of Kabuki actors. While dining in a japanese restaurant and enjoying a kabuki show, mobsters suddenly appears and shots down the entire cast of the show.

Griswold gets kissed by one of the dying actors and by that he also received the powers of Kabuki. Griswold starts to transform into Kabukiman, a superhero dressed in a kabuki costume with supernatural powers. Kabukiman sets out to clean up the mean and corrupted streets of New York and stop the arrival of “The Evil One”.

The idea of this film started while filming The Toxic Avenger II in Japan when Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz was approached by the good folks of Namco to create a Kabuki themed superhero film that would hopefully be the start of a franchise involving lots of potential merchandise like toys, lunchboxes and whatnot. The budget for this film became one and a half million dollars, the biggest film in the history of Troma.

Getting Lucky

gettingluckyGenre: Comedy
Year: 1990
Country: USA

Director: Michael Paul Girard
Starring: Steven Cooke, Lezlie Z. McCraw, Rick McDowell, Garry Kluger, Jean Stewart

Fun, games and high school lust!

Bill is a lonely nerd who enjoy spending his free time recycling used bottles and other trash. He is deeply in love with the blonde cheerleader Chrissie. She is however more into the hunky perverted school jock Tony, who usually picks on Bill at every chance he gets.

One day, Bill finds a bottle with a leprechaun in it. The leprechaun is called Lepkey and he grants Bill three wishes and at the same time they become best friends. Bill uses his wishes to get a chance with the beautiful Chrissie, but Tony is not about to let the geek get the girl without a fight.

Getting Lucky is a forgotten teen comedy that Troma picked up for distribution. It features the overused good hearted unpopular guy/girl getting the popular person at school by showing them that there are more to people then just looks and popularity.

I’m not sure why they went with this title for the film since that sounds like a different type of teen comedy than a romantic one. I also have to question why they thought the idea of bringing a leprechaun into the picture would be fun and good for the story.

A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell

Year: 1990
Country: USA

Director: Brett Piper
Starring: Paul Guzzi, Linda Corwin, Alex Pirnie, Mark Deshaies, Al Hodder

Where the prehistoric meets the prepubescent

A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where dinosaurs are back and on the top of the food chain while the few humans who are left are reduced to being savages and some have even turned into mutants.

Lea is a young girl out in this dangerous world by her own. She meets a young man called Marn, who take a liking to her, but it doesn’t take long before she is kidnapped by a skull wearing barbarian and now she has to fight for her life.

That’s as much of a plot as I’m able to write about this film. There is hardly any story in it and the lack of almost any dialogue doesn’t help to describe what is going on either. While the title might promise nymphoids and dinosaurs, there isn’t much of that to be found here. The main girl Lea is hardly a sexy nymphoid and the dinosaurs, which are made with stop motion are few and not often seen.
