The Hollywood Reporter posted news today about the upcoming sequel to the most talked about “found footage” movie of 2012 – V/H/S.
It seems like the only director who will be returning is Adam Wingard, who did the main story arc of the first one. Simon Barrett was part of the writing staff for the first one and will this time be able to direct his own segment.
The new kids this time will be Jason Eisener, who did Hobo With A Shotgun and has a segment on another anthology film that is soon coming out called The ABCs of Death. Eduardo Sanchez who has recently done Lovely Molly and of course is experienced with the found footage angle after being involved with The Blair Witch Project. Gareth Evans is unfamiliar to me and seems to have his biggest claim to fame with The Raid: Redemption, which I have not seen. The most interesting addition for me is Timo Tjahjanto from Indonesia. He has done a movie called Macabre in his own country and he is also a part of The ABCs of Death.
It will be interesting to see what they are able to pull off this time and hopefully it will be a much more consistent anthology this time with a better story arc around it.
V/H/S will be released on DVD in the United States on December 4th.
