Shocktilyoudrop.com is reporting that James Wan is now starting to work on the sequel to his excellent ghost story from 2010 – Insidious.
The key actors from the first one has signed up to do the sequel, so it’s safe to say that it will continue the story of the Lambert family. The screenplay has been written by Wan’s regular collaborator Leigh Whannell and the shoot will start on January 15, 2013.
The first one is one of the most enjoyable horror movies of the last years and made nearly 100 million dollars in the box office with a small budget of only 1,5 million dollars. I have a positive review ready for it and will post it in the near future, but if you haven’t seen it yet then make sure you pick it up. Despite its flaws, it is a great horror film.
Speaking of James Wan, he has just finished the work on The Conjuring, which also deals with the paranormal and follows two paranormal investigators who are trying to help out a family out on a secluded farmhouse. The Conjuring is listed with a release date on July 19, 2013 and you can see exclusive photo’s from the set on Shocktilyoudrop.
Wan is perhaps the most promising young director in our genre these days and I’m very happy to see him continue working within it and I am very excited about these two new movies from him in 2013.
